Training description

This training is the first stage of a programme dedicated to SSC/GBS managers.
LEVEL 1, BLOCK I of the SSC/GBS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY programme consists of six dedicated modules in the development of business (soft) competencies that belong to BLOCK I entitled Leading the self.

This is the 3rd module of the whole Block in which you will learn:
Module 3 – Building the leader’s image and authority

Each module lasts 5h and consists of a theory and a practical part. Implementation of each module in 2024 according to the following schedule:

12.04.2024. Module 2 – Basics of being a leader. Self-awareness and planning life-long development.
26.04.2024. Module 3 – Building the leader’s image and authority.
10.05.2024. Module 4 – Strategic management.

7.06.2024. Module 6 – Agility in business – antifragility and mental resilience as a fundament of modern leadership.

Training objectives

Training will allow the participants to:
• Better understand what is the direction of supporting functions evolution
• Learn about cultural differences when doing business with different countries (including among others management style, teamwork, communication)
• Identify opportunities linked with standardization and centralization
• Apply continuous improvement approach to achieve process excellence
• Gather the knowledge needed around technology impact (with special focus on process automation)
• Discuss and brainstorm on digital threats and opportunities

For whom?

A whole programme is dedicated to developing managers with up to 5 years of experience working in the SSC/GBS sector.

Programme

MODULE 3
Building the leader’s image and authority. (5 h)

The course provides information on building the leader’s image and authority with a focus on the shared services centers’ specific needs. The theoretical basis is entwined with practical examples and exercises in the course.

The leadership image is not a surface issue. An authentic leader lives and breathes his values and is a reliable role model for his team and a trustworthy partner to his customers.

The leader image is strongly connected with the personality, behavior, body language, and speaking style, as well as formal status and physical appearance.

You may create your personal leadership brand with a strategic vision what you would like to achieve and where you would like to lead your team in the future.

Nevertheless, your image and authority cannot be an artificial concept. They must be built on your true virtues and talents, with understanding of your full potential and personal values that you would like to cultivate. At the same time, you can and should work on your reputation and perception by others.

Framework Programme:

1. Exploring the importance of power, influence, and responsibility within leadership.

2. Building trust, professional confidence, and charisma as a basis for leading efficient teams.

3. Understanding self-regulation significance and its key elements: self-assessment and self-instruction. Personal purpose and the purpose of your organization.

4. Developing long-term self-development plan: goal-setting, motivation and self-reinforcement and self-reflection.

5. Envisioning and engaging the teams in implementation of the strategic goals. Decision-making and connection as two core activities of leaders.
