Training description

This training is the first stage of a programme dedicated to SSC/GBS managers.
LEVEL 1, BLOCK I of the SSC LEADERSHIP ACADEMY programme consists of six dedicated modules in the development of business (soft) competencies that belong to BLOCK I entitled Leading the self.

This is the 2nd module of the whole Block in which you will learn:
Module 2 – Basics of being a leader. Self-awareness and planning life-long development.

Each module lasts 5h and consists of a theory and a practical part. Implementation of each module in 2024 according to the following schedule:

26.04.2024. Module 3 – Building the leader’s image and authority.

7.06.2024. Module 6 – Agility in business – antifragility and mental resilience as a fundament of modern leadership.

Training objectives

Training will allow the participants to:
• Better understand what is the direction of supporting functions evolution
• Learn about cultural differences when doing business with different countries (including among others management style, teamwork, communication)
• Identify opportunities linked with standardization and centralization
• Apply continuous improvement approach to achieve process excellence
• Gather the knowledge needed around technology impact (with special focus on process automation)
• Discuss and brainstorm on digital threats and opportunities

For whom?

A whole programme is dedicated to developing managers with up to 5 years of experience working in the SSC/GBS sector.

Programme

MODULE 2
Basics of being a leader. Self-awareness and planning life-long development. (5 h)

The course provides information on basics of managing as a leader with the self-awareness and planning life-long development with a focus on the shared services centers’ specific needs. The theoretical basis is entwined with practical examples and exercises in the course.

Effective management and leadership are essential in these times of complexity and fast change in organizations. Good management skills constitute a basis for becoming a visionary leader.

Focus on setting goals, planning, motivating, and engaging employees are important, but they must be combined with a strong self-awareness and growth mindset as well as a learning how to be a real role model for your team members.

Authentic leaders understand themselves and what they offer to the organization. They know their distinctive, personal style, and they smoothly use their strengths as well as are self-confident enough to talk their own limitations.

Framework Programme:

1. Management styles and approach – Developing self-awareness as a basis for better leadership skills.

2. Conscious choice of management style adapted to personal preferences, competences and requirements related to the position held.

3. Strengthening management acumen and interpersonal skills to build effective teams in highly diverse and dispersed environment.

4. Transforming business leader into a change maker with focus on strategic vison, process optimization and high efficiency in demanding environment.

5. Decision-making and connection as two core activities of leaders.

Price includes:
• access to the MS Teams platform during the training,
• original electronic training materials,
• certificate.

Each person registered must have a computer or other mobile device with a built-in speaker (optional camera and microphone) and Internet access.

The above-mentioned equipment does not oblige you to share your image, it is needed in order to actively participate in the training.
